There’s a system of equations problem in the test prep book we use for SAT, that has students write a system of equations for the cost of a cell phone. Plan that includes a certain number of calls and texts and any overages cost 5-10¢ per call/text. My students always look confused as hell and I have to explain that this is how cel plans used to work.
